Smoky eyes have been a big style for quite awhile and there's no sign this particular trend is dying. Here we show you step-by-step instructions on how to get the perfect smoky eye. The key to the perfect smoky eye is proper blending. You want to make sure colors are blended together flawlessly. Also, it's important to pair light base colors with rich dark colors. Nice mixes include: Soft gold base with deep purple on top, champagne base with bright blue and peach base with green hue.

Begin applying Blacktrack fluidline as your base on the inner portion of your lid. You want to place the brush as pictured and pull the color upwards and outwards to begin covering the lower part of your lid. You want to make sure you establish some sort of shape, whatever your preference in. I prefer something similar to the curvature of my natural eye.

The crease is very important to the smokey eye and it needs special attention. With a taupe colored shadow, or a mixture of gray and brown, pick up a small amount (to begin), and work it into the crease area. Continue until the area is well defined, with lots of attention to the blending process. Remember, the look we are after is smokey.

Be Sure to Choose the Right Makeup Colors for Smoky Eyes

It is possible for you to get smoky eyes with pretty much any eye makeup colors. However, if you want to get the most out of your smoky eye look, you will want to choose colors that look smoky. Eye shadow and eyeliner shades that you will want to consider using include shades of gray, black, purple and even brown. Certain shades of blue may even work, though it is important to make sure that you are not opting for bright makeup shades. You will need three different colors. No matter what colors you choose, make sure that they are similar to one another.

Smoky eye makeup is essentially a makeup application that darkens the lids and highlights the brow bone. This effortless eye makeup trick will draw instant attention to your eyes and provide an overall sultry, sexy look. People always think of dark, dramatic colors when they hear smokey. Although the look can definitely be dramatic, it is not necessarily dark. The real secret to the smoky look is in the color eyeshadow you use.

Smokey eyes are great for evening parties and make you look sexy and sensual at the same time.

You'll need three shades of eyeshadow dark, medium and light. Don't shy away from using shadows that shimmer! The more you play with this technique, and the more colors and finishes you test, the more you'll find both your makeup options and skills exploding.

Use a smudge brush to apply and to smudge a shimmery black eye shadow into the crease of my eye and to the upper and lower lash lines. I do this because it will soften the eye liner even more and this is what creates the smoky eye effect. It’s a good idea to go lightly with applying the black eye shadow and then build up the intensity until you’re happy with how much you have on. I personally don’t like to make the shadow too dark, but again it’s all up to personal preference. These are the smoky eye makeup tips.
