Many people love dark eye makeup because it adds an air of mystery. There is something about a woman with a smoky eye that just drives men wild! Of course, some women go way too far with their eye makeup. That is something you definitely want to avoid. The first thing you need to do is consider your skin tone, eye color, and hair color. These factors will determine which eye makeup looks best on you. Sure, maybe your friend looks hot when she wears her dark eye makeup, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to flatter you. Choose eye makeup that suits your natural skin color.

Remember to never use too much makeup, however. If you go overboard it can have the opposite effect you were going for. It’s best to have a friend or family member check you out before you leave the house. They can tell you if you have too little, too much, or just the right amount. Getting the advice of other people can be invaluable so that you don’t make a makeup blunder.

The first thing you need to do is consider your skin tone, eye color, and hair color. These factors will determine which eye makeup looks best on you. Sure, maybe your friend looks hot when she wears her dark blue eye makeup, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to flatter you. Choose eye makeup that suits your natural skin color

Prep your eyes with concealer Concealer can be used to cover up undereye circles or just the bluish discoloration just under your inner eye. To cover dark undereye circles, apply three dots of concealer under each eye. Start at the inner corner where skin tends to be darkest, then under the pupil and the third on the outer edge. Pat, never rub with your ring finger (this finger tends to have the softest pad) until it disappears.

Apply a base eye shadow. This shade should be a color slightly brighter than your natural skin tone. It should be applied all over the eyelid. A cream base works best for blending.
Choose a contour color. The color you choose should look like a shadow and be a dark, contrasting color to the base. Popular colors include taupe, dark brown or charcoal. Lift the skin above the eye by gently lifting the brow with a finger on the opposite hand than the one you're using to apply the contour. Lifting the eye will open up the crease.

Take the black mascara and apply it to your bottom eyelashes. The upper lid should be thicker than the bottom lid. Take your Dark Eye shadow and apply it to your top lid just above the eyeliner. Rub the eyeshadow into the end line of the eyeliner using the eyeshadow brush. Don't rub the eyeshadow over the eyeliner. Only on the end of the eyeliner. Apply the eyeshadow on the bottom eyelid the same way as the top except don't rub the eyeshadow into the eyeliner. Take your finger and gently rub the bottom eyeshadow into your skin so it looks like your sick. Then the eyes are done. These are the tips for dark eye makeup.
